For more than 10 years, the SDDOT and South Dakota Planning Districts (Districts)have been using DOS-based customized GPS software to collect and maintain data on more than 83,000 miles of roadway alignments and their attributes. The GPS data has been converted to Arcinfo coverages through several custom SMLs and AMLs (Simple Marco Language and Advanced Macro Language).
