| Description: | SEMS is a workflow-driven GIS-based web application intended to facilitate collaboration and communication among TDOT and its partners throughout the planning, project development, and environmental permitting of transportation projects. The SEMS application, which is currently under development, includes a GIS-based database of environmental data, GIS analysis tools, a workflow engine to drive review and decisionmaking activities, and a project repository and web-based collaboration environment to allow the review of data and documents. By creating a centralized location to access GIS data and project specific information, SEMS will eliminate the need to store redundant information in multiple locations and improve information sharing and collaboration between transportation and resource agencies. | |
