Description: The GIS/Automated Mapping section champions the use of GIS throughout the Department, represents the interests of DOT at the State level and develops and maintains the state's geographically referenced road network. GIS Staff accesses spatial data to develop maps used throughout the Department to assist in the day to day decision-making processes.

The system maps features such as roadway age, surface type, surface condition, pavement distress data, roadbed layer information, accident data, average daily traffic, maintenance schedules, and improvement recommendations.
