Upcoming GIS in Transportation Webcast
South Carolina DOT: Projects, Programs, the STIP and MAPS - Sharing Project Info with the Enterprise
Please join the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for its 26th installment in a quarterly series of webcasts highlighting applications of geospatial technologies in transportation. The webcast will take place on Tuesday, June 16th from 2-3 PM ET.
South Carolina DOT recently developed a new map-based solution, the Project Programming Solution (P2S), which is used for managing projects, programs, and funding in the State. P2S is a next generation project programming solution which replaced a more than twenty year old mainframe application. The Department is also in the process of implementing a new STIP tool which will add a spatial component to the STIP process. In this webcast, Lynsee Gibson, Director of Program Controls at SCDOT, and Pat Broussard, President at PMG Software Professionals, will review both the P2S and STIP, discuss how SCDOT is using these new tools to spatially enable project information across their enterprise, and include a short demonstration of the tools.
